HOW I WORK
I work as an integrative counsellor – which means I use thoughts and ideas from different therapy models including both the humanistic (person-centred) and psychodynamic theories. My approach is client led, thus my response is unique to each client. As a psychotherapeutic counsellor I value the relationship between my client and myself.
“The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another”.” ― (Carl R. Rogers)
My aim is to help create an opportunity that will facilitate change and healing. Therapy not only provides an opportunity to work through difficulties but is also about celebrating strengths and seeking self-compassion.
At our first session (an hour long) we can discuss what brings you to therapy and what you need from our sessions. It is a time to explore how comfortable we are together, and to find a suitable time to meet. Weekly sessions are 50 minutes. I offer both short and long term therapy.
I offer online counselling as well, via Zoom, Skype or telephone. I offer this service both locally and for
people /clients living on the Isle of Man. I will however, only see young people face to face.
I charge between £40 and £50 per 50 minute session.
